Sesame Street Live!

Roy and I got to go on another special date Friday night. I got us tickets to go see Sesame Street Live: 1-2-3 Imagine. Our tickets were amazing, 2nd row to the left of the stage. Roy was on the end of the row so there wasn't anyone in front of him and as the characters would come down and dance around they patted him on the head, gave him high fives, sang to him, and Telly Monster even honked his nose for him! We had so much fun, I couldn't stop taking pictures! Roy even told me "Mom put the camera down, stop taking pictures." Here are a few to give you an idea of how fabulous it was.

Before the show we went to Baris, a local Italian restaurant, for dinner the waitress and a few other people around told me I had the best looking date in the place. It was so fun for me to be able to color with him and talk to him without worrying about anyone else.

This is a shot of his face as the lights dimmed, the music started, and the characters made their appearance. Shock and awe! It's a bit fuzzy because I was so anxious too!

Rosita was the only character that I caught coming right up to Roy. Some of the other characters that came this close to him include: Elmo, Oscar's sister, The Count, Baby Bear, Abby Cadabby, Bert, Telly Monster, the Girl Sesame Street Character, and Sam the one real person in the show. I wasn't sure how he was going to feel about them getting so close, I thought he might be afraid but he loved it!

This is the souvenir that he chose, at the end of the show I told him not to forget it and he said, "I get to take it home with me! Really Mom?"

This was my favorite part, I just thought the ship was really neat!

Each character imagined a place they wanted to go, this was Rosita's part and she imagined she was in Mexico visiting her Abuela and Abuelo.

And of course they included Elmo's world. Even Mr. Noodle's brother Mr. Noodle was there!

This is the New Orleans and Mardi Gras part, Roy really enjoyed the parade they did.

Roy says Oscar is his favorite character, since he's in a trash can he wasn't able to come down the stairs by us but Roy still thought he was really cool.

Big Bird was the first character we saw come out on stage, and this is Sam the mail carrier that taught us all about using our imaginations!

  1. I totally saw some kind of Sesame Street Live in the 80s sometime with my mom. I'm glad that it's still going.
